So we watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 2) yesterday. I'm reluctant to say anything about it because a lot of you, I'm sure, haven't seen it yet! I'll just say that I really enjoyed it in a Harry Potter fangirl sort of way. I can't really believe that the whole Harry Potter... epicness... is over. I've been a fan since I read the first book when I was 9 years old (the same age as Emma Watson), and it's just been a part of my life for so long. We've just finished watching the Behind The Scenes program on TV and when Emma said that she's "in denial" over it being over, I think I can sort of relate.
Anyway, this is what I wore to watch the film. I've worn something Harry Potter related since the 4th film (I wasn't really that interested in the films until then) and I've left my Slytherin scarf and tie back in Australia, so I only had my shirt to wear!
Many of you probably wonder why on Earth I "rep" Slytherin and not Gryffindor and it's simply because most of my favourite characters were in that house apart from Sirius Black. Bellatrix was probably my favourite female character (of course, I don't condone her wickedness, but she was a pretty fascinating character and Helena Bonham-Carter played her magnificently) and my favourite male characters were Sirius and Snape!
Apologies (again) for the lighting and weirdness of these photos. I really, really should repair my camera soon...
WITHOUT MUCH FURTHER ADO,

Slytherin tee: Hot Topic (around 2005)
High-waisted denim shorts: Vintage via COW
Sheer black tights: Primark
Converse Chuck Taylors: Richard's
Geek glasses: Attik
So... who out of you has seen the film? Did you love it or hate it? Did any of you dress up?

That tee is actually pretty cool! Cant wait to see the movie tonight! x
ReplyDeletei actually really like your photos as they are! and i agree with your love of Helena BC, she's wonderful in every film i've seen her in. i was an extra in the 2nd HP film and got 'sorted' into Gryffindor, gowns and all -x-
ReplyDeleteI am a massive fan of Harry Potter but I don't like the film. I have only watched the first one and it annoyed me so much because they changed things. I can't bear to watch the others!
ReplyDeleteI might get the box set though when they all come out on DVD.
Love the T-shirt!

I´m so with you on the favourite character choice:) I totally love Snape and Bellatrix is definitely the best female character in the book. And Helena B.C. is amazing in the role as well, absolutely stunning. I´m also a big fan of Luna Lovegood. She´s so weirdly cute:)
ReplyDeleteEeek you are adorable! I love your style :) I went to the midnight showing with my boyfriend and then we went again last night with some of my family. I love the movie-I'm so happy it was done so well :) I did dress up-as a Gryffindor student. I'm with Gryffindor all the way-but my favorite character is Snape. I am in love with his character!!!
ReplyDeletebeautiful photos. I'm very jealous of your t-shirt, I need to go see the movie asap but I'm too scared to watch as I don't want to admit it's over! xx
ReplyDeleteThe tee is so damn cool!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for not spoiling it for those who havent seen it yet. When I have time, i'll be on it like a car bonnet! x
love the tee! i thought the film was pretty good, i didn't dress up but at the cinema i was sitting next to someone dressed as dobby...haha x
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved DH2. I love it on a different level to the book though, the book will always be better in my eyes, but I did enjoy the adaptation, and they kept most of the important parts in and executed most of it so well! Lovely outfit, the Tee is perfect with your loose shorts! xx
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your top from Hot Topic! I'm quite tempted to purchase one in the 'Ravenclaw' style :) x
ReplyDeleteI'm going to see it tomorrow, but I'm not really completely caught up in the whole potter-mania thing which is a shame because it does seem like fun but I'm just like 'meh...don't get it'!
ReplyDeleteLove the whole look! esp the tee and the shoes!=)

Aaah glad you enjoyed the film! I'm so excited to see it tomorrow!

aaaahhhh that top is fantastic! I love it! I didnt even realise what it said, it just looks like a nice vintage printed top but then I looked again (did a double take) and it says slytherin! Great stuff! Im seeing the film next week and i cannot wait!!
ReplyDeleteRianna xxx
It was such a good film. The last scene (which is awkward in the book anyway) did NOT translate well onto film, but it was such a great film nevertheless!
ReplyDeleteYour tee is absolutely amazing! I never thought of dressing up, but part of me kind of wishes I did now x
ReplyDeleteOH yes I can't believe the whole Potter phenomenon is gone either. Snape was indeed a massive character in the books, at first I considered him a traitor and I hated him but them finding out his true reasons, I resonate with Harry's feelings I guess and only then he had my full admiration. Harry Potter will never die, I will have my kids watch the films and read the books and the final film was simply splendid!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the slytherin tshirt, am going to see harry tonight and am really really excited but also a little sad :( Looking lovely x
ReplyDeleteI'm probably the only person in the world that hasnot seen any of the HP movies at the cinema and I'm also not part of this huge fan community. Somehow I'm more the Lord of the Rings and Hohlbein fantasy type. BUT I really enjoy seeing all the HP fan outfits around the blogosphere lately! And you're the first one I see who go for Slytherin which is pretty cool as I always like the dark and evil characters more because they're more interesting ;) Also I'm a huge fan of Helena Bonham-Carter so I can totally relate to that.
ReplyDeleteAfter all I'm glad I haven't become such a hardcore HP fan because I think I would be really sad right now due to the very end of it.
This is such a cute outfit! I haven't been to see the film yet and now I will have to wait two weeks 'til I get back from my holidays BUT I cannot wait to see it! Glad you enjoyed

Cannot WAIT to see it. I think I might cry!
ReplyDeleteI still haven't seen the movie because the theater was sold out everytime I go there! So I had to wait impatiently! I'm also a big fan and I re-read the books all the time. I can't believe it's over either!

Hi Michelle!
ReplyDeleteWow, love the t-shirt!
I kept it together in the cinema, refused to cry surrounded by strangers.
I'm actually hoping for some JK spin-offs! Who wouldn't read Snape's story?
Love Rosie x
